An access log is a text file which contains a complete list of all the files accessed by your website visitors. All of the files that were requested in one way or another will be included, so when you have a PHP script program and a site visitor opens just the home page, for instance, you might find plenty of files in the log. It is because there are components on the home page which are embedded - parts of other web pages, images, and so forth. All of these files will be listed inside the access log, so you can get a complete picture of the way your Internet site performs. The info is in plain text format, so the logs are frequently termed "raw data" too. An access log provides the name of every requested file, the path to it, the date it was accessed, plus the user’s IP address, Internet browser and OS. More info, like the referrer Internet site, is oftentimes included too. A log file could be processed by various desktop applications for statistical purposes as an addition to the web statistics created by your hosting server.

Access Log Manager in Hosting

Our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel has a section focused on various logs and the access logs are among them. As soon as you sign in to your hosting account and take a look at this section, you shall find a list of all the domains and subdomains that you have. All it takes to permit the generation of access logs is to press a button that'll be available next to every domain/subdomain. When the option is enabled, you shall see a download link as well as the file size so far, so you'll be able to save the file to your computer and look at it or process it with some app. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect right away, so if you don't need one, you may stop it with just a mouse click from the exact same section of the Control Panel. You will still be able to access the already developed content by simply clicking the Download link.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our state-of-the-art hosting platform will generate access logs for every Internet site hosted inside a semi-dedicated server account, assuming that this function is enabled. All domains and subdomains that you have shall be listed inside the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, that we offer with all the accounts, so if you want our system to start creating logs for any of them, you should just click on the small button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and switch the default Off option to On. You can disable this feature whenever you want by following the exact same steps. You'll find a Download link for each log within the same section of the Control Panel, so you can save the content produced by our system in .txt format with just a mouse click. An existing log file could be downloaded even after the option has been deactivated, so you will still be able to look at the data that has already been generated.
